Types of Care

Companionship.

It is our top priority to improve a loved one's quality of life by keeping the mind engaged and connected to reduce isolation and loneliness, which is why companion care will be specifically designed to be motivational and have an active environment continuing to stimulate the mind within a loved one's own phase/comfort at home. Rightful Choice Caregivers will let you lead your own life, increasing your sense of purpose and mental stimulation, while also knowing that you can accomplish just about anything you want with an experienced caregiver right by your side.

Fall Risk/Prevention.

Falls are common and costly, especially among ages 65 and older. Each year, about 3 million older adults are treated in an emergency department for a fall injury with broken bones, hip fractures, or head trauma. Lack of exercise leads to weakness and increases the chance of slipping or falling in a home that is overly crowded, cluttered, and unorganized living areas.  But these unforeseen accidents can be preventable and do not have to be inevitable with a helping hand. Rightful Choice Caregivers can offer experienced and professionally trained caregivers who can help to achieve a safer environment by decluttering and organizing living areas. Stand by or contact guard assistance to the bathroom, shower, in or out of the chair/bed with the proper use of the necessary assistive device(s) (examples: walker, cane, gait belt). Creating a daily routine of exercises to help strengthen physical condition and build confidence to walk around the house and activities to help improve quality of life.

24/7 Complete Support

The fear of many older adults losing their independence and control is common, which could lead to frustration, depression, or even anger for some folks. For instance, as an age-related complication, mobility loss, unsteadiness, confusion, and far more when other health conditions occur that will partially limit or totally lose the ability to carry out daily lifestyle as it used to be. This does not mean it is time to move into a facility just because life happened and one is unable to accomplish daily living tasks.

Roughly 70 to 90 percent of older adults ages 50 to 65 want to stay in the comfort of one’s own home regardless of what might be the reasoning or care needed. Fear of the unknown, older adults’ worries about losing relationships with beloved neighbors, changes of routines, missing future family/friends gatherings, and leaving behind a lifetime of priceless built memories at home is a huge offset that could lead to emotional distress and feeling left out. There is simply no substitute for the comfort of being in one’s own home where everything is familiar.

Rightful Choice Caregivers can render seamless care whether a loved one is recovering from post-hospitalization, post-op surgery, bed-bound requiring constant care, or just simply in need of an extra pair of eyes and hands to assist with daily activities within their own home. Having a detailed and focused caregiver who will be sure to give one-on-one attention can go a long way. In-home care also promotes the healing process, enjoying freedom, setting their own rules, leaving the house as they wish to socialize, visiting with family or friends, and independence which a loved one is unwilling to give up. Half-a-day, full-day, or round-the-clock care, Rightful Choice Caregivers provides experienced, committed, and dedicated caregivers who are ready to serve with heart.

Respite Care

What is respite care? Respite care is to provide a form of support and relief for a family as a caregiver for one’s loved one. Arranging extra support can help boost and maintain one’s own health to keep caring for an elderly, ill, or disabled family member. Take advantage of handing over responsibilities to professionals while you take a much-needed break from all the demands without feeling guilty. Caregiving can become overwhelming with daily demands and one’s patience and compassion can wear thin, especially if this is a role one is doing in “good faith.”

Respite care can help decrease the burden of family caregiving, exhaustion, isolation, or even worse becoming burned out. But this complication does not need to take place by seeking respite care to help relieve stress and promote balance in one’s life for family, friends, job, and other things one enjoys doing in one’s own personal life. Whether it is just for a few hours, a day, a week, or for an extended amount of time, Rightful Choice Caregivers are here to provide the time one needs because it is not selfish to need time for oneself while a loved one is receiving the continuous quality care they need.

Help Around Home

Older adults, seniors, or anyone with physical limitations due to health conditions finds difficulties in keeping their home clean, tidy, and well organized which can turn mentally, emotionally, and physically draining to see an unkempt home and not be able to maintain it. Basic household housekeeping can still very well take up a lot of time and energy from doing all types of chores and it doesn’t take a lot before germs build up causing infections or other diseases and the environment becoming unsafe for a loved one to live in. Rightful Choice Caregivers can make sure that our talented caregivers will keep your home clean as it should be by tackling these basic housekeeping duties.

Memory Support

The importance of having a skilled caregiver to care for a person with Alzheimer's/Dementia, cognitive impairment, behavioral issue, stroke, and brain injury for example, is vital. Our top priority is for both the family and their loved one safety and peace of mind. Providing meaningful and quality care that could produce or increase positive outcomes for both persons living with complications and professional caregivers is very important and challenging. When a loved one is going through an unfortunate disease or has a major underlying health problem and needs the best care or support to keep them in their own home, Rightful Choice Caregivers can help by providing customized care executed by our trained, experienced, and compassionate caregivers without a doubt.

End of Life Care

End-of-life care can be rather distressing and uncomfortable to discuss on top of having to make difficult decisions. Death can come in many ways, sudden, days, weeks, or even months for others. Some will have physical decline but with a clear mind while others will see cognitive dysfunction/declines but are physically strong. To be in a facility or unfamiliar setting is not where a loved one would prepare to spend their last days but in their own home and bed with all the comfort there is and the remaining quality of life. Rightful Choice Caregivers will make sure to provide the necessary support in many ways, including physical comfort, mental/emotional needs, spiritual needs, calm and peaceful environment to the family and a loved one who is nearing the end of life. It is our intention to help and make the passage of a loved one burden-free and stress-free as much as possible. Death can look different based on the individual’s preferences, wishes, needs, and choices. That's why we take everyone’s opinions and wishes into consideration.

Meal Preparation

Did you know that the aging body has more difficulties absorbing very important vitamins and nutrients that are required to maintain health and function? This is why the importance of meal planning, preparation, and cooking comes into play. Meal prepping and cooking can be burdensome or even dangerous tasks for seniors, older adults, or to someone who has physical limitations due to a medical condition. At Rightful Choice Caregivers, you can expect our caregivers to prepare delicious, nutritious meals while following and meeting specialized diet restrictions whether it is vegetarian, vegan, sugar/salt-free, and more. It is vital to consume a healthy diet, especially for older adults to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, and increase cognitive function. A loved one can again enjoy their favorite meals participating in cooking or not, delicious, and nutritious meals will always be on the menu.

Personal Hygiene

Maintaining good hygiene is a crucial part of healthy living to help avoid infections and skin issues caused by poor hygiene. An everyday task like personal hygiene can be difficult and challenging as a person ages, decreased mobility, diseases, or lack of energy can all cause a loved one to lose interest if not the negligence of their own personal hygiene. Some folks find themselves in a difficult situation performing the tasks alone and think of how uncomfortable, awkward, and humiliating it could be to have another person assist with personal care. This could be a sensitive task for both caregivers and the person receiving the care. That's why Rightful Choice Caregivers will match a loved one with a caregiver who has the same interest. Our experienced and compassionate caregivers like everyone on our team will assist and perform the necessary support and help with respect and dignity.
